“One day I would like to hear one of my operas performed here in this place” – Giacomo Puccini in Torre del Lago, the year that he died.

Torre del Lago, in the heart of Tuscany, is the magnificent setting for the Puccini Opera Festival.  On this four-night tour, you will be based in the charming Renaissance walled town of Lucca, the birthplace of Puccini.

Enjoy two of the maestro’s popular operas, Turandot and La Boheme, performed in the stunning outdoor lake-side theatre in Torre del Lago. As well as comprehensive sightseeing of key places associated with Giacomo Puccini and other locations within the vicinity of Lucca, you will experience Tuscan cuisine, hospitality and ambiance when dining in wonderful local trattorie and restaurants.

Our special guest, Adrian Mourby, winner of the 2007 Puccini Award and a prolific opera essayist, will provide insights into the life and works of Puccini.

This tour is limited to 20 places. Early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.

Perhaps cycle or take a gentle walk around the town’s walls, or relax and watch the world go by in a café in the stunning Piazza dell’Anfiteatro.

In the early evening you will travel to Massaciuccoli Lake and take a scenic boat trip along its waterways, an area which inspired Puccini in his work and where he enjoyed his leisure time.
