      Giuseppe Verdi is perhaps one of the most brilliant operatic composers of the 19th century and could even be considered Italy’s most famous musical son. Born in October 1813 in a province of the then 1st French Empire, his life was mired with both tragedy and scandal.

      Join Prestige Holidays and our esteemed Adrian Mourby on a six day indulgence of Verdi’s popular works.       Day 1 - Arrival (L)

      Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by our local guide and take a short transfer to the city of Parma, your base for the next five nights.

      After lunch in a local restaurant, take time to relax and freshen up at the hotel. Transfer to the Teatro Regio di Parma a few hours prior to the opera to taken independent meal before attending I Lombardi alla prima crociata.

      Day 2 - Le Roncole (B, D)

      Join Adrian Mourby for a walk to the Cattedrale di Parma or alternatively spend your morning at leisure. Enjoy a guided tour in Le Roncole this afternoon which includes a visit to the birth house of Giuseppi Verdi, as well as visits to the Casa Barezzi and the Verdi Museum in Busseto.

      For dinner, we visit the locally adored restaurant, I Due Foscari which was opened by Carlo Bergonzi, before Adrian Mourby introduces this evening’s performance of Rigoletto.

      Overnight: Parma

      Day 3 - Cremona (B, L)

      In the late morning, transfer to Cremona where the group shall take part in a guided tour around the city. A visit to the famous Stradivarius Violin Museum is included here as well as a visit to a bodega to see how to craft a violin, plus a special recital on one of his original violins.

      Lunch is enjoyed today in an authentic local restaurant, before transferring back to Parma.

      Day 4 - At leisure (B)

      Today the group shall take a walking tour of the city of Parma, as well as visiting its Farnese Theatre. Take lunch independently in an authentic local restaurant.

      Enjoy free time in the afternoon and independent dinner before reconvening in the evening to transfer to Teatro Regio Parma for Ernani.

      Day 5 - Sant'Agata (B, D)

      Transfer to Sant’Agata for a tour of Villa Verdi where the composer lived for 50 years. Enjoy a local lunch in Sant’Agata before transferring back to Parma for time at leisure.

      This evening the group will be treated will a Farewell Dinner and a chance to reflect on the works of Guiseppe Verdi.

      Day 6 - Departure (B)

      Transfer to the airport for departure.
