“I adore art…when I am alone with my notes, my heart pounds and the tears stream from my eyes, and my emotion and my joys are too much to bear.” – Giuseppe Verdi

Giuseppe Verdi is perhaps one of the most brilliant operatic composers of the 19th century and could even be considered Italy’s most famous musical son. His life was marred by both tragedy and scandal, losing both of his children in their infancy and, shortly afterwards, his wife, during the writing of ‘Un Giorno di Regno’. Verdi came very close to abandoning his love of composing altogether. It was not until he was persuaded several years later that he began to write once more.

Join opera critic Adrian Mourby on a six-day indulgence of Verdi’s most popular works. With accommodation in the heart of Parma’s historical centre, mouth-watering cuisine washed down with wine, and a unique itinerary to appeal to all opera lovers, this tour is bound to enthuse.

This tour is limited to 20 places. Early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
