      Northern Ireland has an undeniably rich nautical and political history and also boasts one of the most spectacular coastal touring routes: Giant’s Causeway.

      During this tour of Northern Ireland, we will be based in the vibrant and truly fascinating city of Belfast. Over recent years this city has been quietly evolving and firmly planting itself as a must see destination for travelers. There are many murals depicting past events and values and are in memory of all parties. These murals and the Peace Wall act as a reminder and offer insight into th e turbulent past during ‘The Troubles’. For the duration of the tour you will be staying at the Hotel Europa, an iconic hotel which often made headlines for being the hangout for journalists during ‘The Troubles’. Whatever your politics, Belfast is a city with a story to tell.

      Throughout this interactive tour you will be immersed in the rich culture and get to experience first hand many activities synonymous with this country, from music and dancing to the language to the national sport of hurling.  No visit to Northern Ireland would also be complete without visiting the Giants Causeway; a natural phenomenon comprising of some 40,000 hexagonal basalt columns. Legend has it that it was built by warring giants as a way to cross the sea.

      By the end of your stay you will be in love with this country and clicking your heels all the way back to the airport.

      Itinerary

      Day 1 - Arrival (D)

      Arrive into Belfast from your choice of regional airport and be transferred to the Hotel Europa for the duration of the stay. You will have the afternoon at leisure to explore the fantastic city of Belfast before meeting for dinner in the Causerie restaurant at the hotel.

      Day 2 - Belfast (B, L)

      After breakfast we will we will embark on a political mural tour with former republican and loyalist guides. We will then make our way to Conway Mill, one of the first linen spinning mills to be established on the Lower Falls Road. Here there will be a unique and interactive Q&A session with the local guides and lunch.

      In the afternoon we will visit the Titanic Belfast, the world’s largest Titanic visitor experience, for a private tour. Here there are 9 interactive galleries, original artefacts and true to scale replicas. You can also visit the last remaining White Star Vessel and the Titanic’s original tender vessel the SS Nomadic.

      Day 3 - Belfast (B)

      After breakfast we will make our way to County Antrim to the visit the world famous Giants Causeway and spend a couple of hours exploring the ancient volcanic basalt columns that adorn this beautiful coast line.

      We will then make our way to the Bushmills Distillery where we will have lunch (to be paid locally). Set on the banks of the river in the small village of Bushmills is Ireland’s oldest working distillery. We will be treated to a tasting session of its award winning whisky and a tour of the distillery.

      Day 4 - Belfast (B, L)

      Today we will be collected from the hotel and will embark upon our Cultural Experience. Activities will include an Irish language lesson, Irish music and dancing and participating in the national sport of hurling.

      Day 5 - Departure (B)

      Transfer to the airport for departure.
